A Little About Me
I am an art educator and an artist
I absolutely love what I do! I have been teaching 7th and 8th grade art to very talented students who amaze me everyday. I was honored with Connecticut Art Education Associations Art Educator of the year award in 2011. It's incredible to receive an award for doing something that I love!
I am also an artist.
As you can see from my website, I love a variety of media. It is difficult to chose just one, I do tend to favor alabaster stone. However, I also love to experiment and explore and keep growing as an artist. Recently, I have been working in a sculptural relief process where, in essence, I am basically painting with sculpted lines. I have also ventured into combining that sculptural relief process with recycled materials, especially styrofoam since it is so detrimental to the earth. I tend to hide the styrofoam into my sculpting material, therefore taking something that is "bad or ugly" and making it "good or beautiful" again.
I live in the Northwest Hills of CT with my husband and two daughters. We travel extensively throughout the United States...where I often gain inspiration for my artistic work.
